CAT Trailblazer October 2011

MYCAT and DWNP are conducting a CAT Trailblazer from the 17th to 23rd October 2011 and calling for three members of the Malaysian public to be part of the programme. The basic information about the CAT Trailblazer October 2011 is as listed below:
1. Location: | Taman Negara Pahang border (a specific location to be announced later) |
2. Date: | 17 to 23 October 2011 |
3. Duration: | Actual time in the forest is 5 days/4 nights. Including travelling time to Taman Negara, 7 days in total. |
4. Personnel: | One team of 6 people consisting of - 2 DWNP staff |
5. Expenses: | No participation fee imposed, but all costs incurred such as fuel, food, insurance and lodging will be borne by the participating individuals. |
6. Equipment: | - DWNP staff will bring a set of equipment necessary for border maintenance works. - MYCAT will provide a basic first aid kit and volunteers are required to bring personal camping gear and machete (only those who are comfortable using machete). |

The candidates must be above 18 years of age, in good health and physical condition, and must be confident that they can complete the trip with little assistance. They must also have prior experience in backpacking and camping in the Malaysian rainforest. All volunteers will sign an indemnity form and be covered by medical insurance. There will be a briefing in Kuala Lumpur as soon as three candidates are selected.
